Choosing a Category
When you’re creating a press release article or event listing, you’ll need to choose a category and subcategory in which to place it. We think we’ve covered most eventualities, but there may be occasions where a category doesn’t suit your purpose. If you find that, please get in touch. We may be able to suggest a course of action or even amend our website to include your specific requirements.
The two main categories are BUSINESS and COMMUNITY. Loosely-speaking, the Business category is for profit-making projects, events and company press releases. The Community category is for not-for-profit projects (including local government and health service news) registered charity news and the like.
It’s important to choose the correect category. Not only will it make your article easier to find on our site, it will help to get it noticed and correctly categorized by the search engines.
If you’re posting an event, the process of creating your listing is very similar to a regular press release, but the date you enter (making sure you use the right format of YYYY-MM-DD) will ensure it gets included on our events page.
